About the Author

I have worked at Unum, a Fortune 500 insurance provider in Chattanooga since July 2010 as Managing Writer in Marketing Communications. In my increasingly rare free time I love to take on extra writing gigs, primarily concerning outdoor recreation.

I graduated from the University of Tennessee in May 2010, where I earned a B.S.C. in Journalism and Electronic Media. I served as Editor-in-Chief of Scoop magazine, the magazine of the College of Communications and Information. Upon graduation, I was also honored as the Ernie Pyle/Scripps Howard Journalism Student of the Year.

I'm currently Sponsorship Coordinator for the Chattanooga Triathlon Club; I also did a year-long stint as Co-President of the Triathlon Club at UT.

I love my saxophone, mandolin and guitars. Currently, I play mandolin in a band called Caney Folk Company. I also ride bikes and compete in triathlons, including the inaugural Ironman Chattanooga.
